  • As an actor, why do I need a website?
    Your new website will be a powerful marketing tool that gives you worldwide exposure, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

    Casting directors and agents can instantly access your headshots, CV, showreels and obtain contact information for you or your agent.

    In this competitive industry, a website is as important as having a phone number.
  • Do you only design websites for actors?
    No, we don’t just offer websites for actors. We also design websites for musicians, singers, voice over artistes, dancers, artists, presenters, comedians, models and anybody in the creative industry.

    We are happy to tweak our seven page ‘Off The Peg’ layout to suit your particular requirement, or choose a ‘Made to Measure’ or ‘Bespoke’ site.

  • What type of website can you offer me?
    We have three packages built for every budget.
    A basic ‘Off the peg’ site built using a tried and tested pattern.
    A ‘Made to Measure’ package building on our patterns, giving you additional flexibility and all important content management.
    A ‘Bespoke’ service building you a completely individually tailor made site.
  • How much is the annual hosting fee?
    Actor Design give you the first year FREE. The cost of annual hosting for our ‘Off The Peg’ and ‘Made to Measure’ sites is currently £50.00 per year, a ‘Bespoke’ site may be more.

    The first annual hosting fee is payable on the first years anniversary of the website going live.
  • How much is the cost for website updates?
    We charge an ‘update package’ of £25 per hour.

    We understand that some updates would only take a few minutes to do, so will always notify you about how much of the hours update total is remaining.

    We think this is the fairest way of doing your website updates. Some of our competitors charge you a one off fee for EVERY single update.

    We also notify you when the ‘update package’ is running low or has been used up.
  • How long would it take for the updates take to go live?
    We hope to get any updates live within 48 hours of receiving them from you.

    We are happy to add news articles, reviews, CV updates, photographs and showreels.

    For any major changes (additional page or pages) a timetable will be agreed before amendment work commences.

    If you choose a ‘Made to Measure’ or ‘Bespoke’ site it is possible that you will be able to manage a lot of the content updates yourself from home.
  • How do I send you my photo and media files?
    All these sort of files can be emailed to us, or sent to us through the post.

    We can obtain your CV details from your spotlight page.

    If you wish to use images from printed photographs, it’s best to get them scanned yourself and then send us copies through email, as we can not be responsible for any items lost in the mail.

    Contact us to discuss your options of getting files to us.
  • Can you get me my own personal website named domain?
    We will do our very best to obtain you an exact website domain name.

    If we can’t, we will offer you the best three options to choose from.

    For example if isn’t available we could try alternatives like ‘’, ‘’ or ‘’.

    If you already have a domain name we can can point your website to that particular domain. Just let us know the details.
  • How long does it take to build my website?
    Our ‘Off The Peg’ or ‘Made to Measure’ websites have a turnaround of 7-10 days, depending on how quickly we recieve your content and how quickly you give us your feedback after we have sent you the ‘rough cut’ of your website.

    A ‘Bespoke’ site would take longer to design, depending on your specifications, so a timetable would be agreed.
  • Is it possible to add pages to my website?
    It is possible to add pages to your website, although we do give you 7 pages with our ‘Off The Peg’ and ‘Made to Measure’ design.

    Additional pages would come at an additional cost which we would agree dependant on the content of the page.
  • Can I change my website design or colour scheme?
    We would be happy to change or tweak any aspect of the website design during the building stage. We will send you a ‘rough cut’ which is a functioning website draft, but don’t worry, the site won’t be searchable and is only accessable to those who have the direct link.

    You can take as much time as you want to ‘test’ the site out and we also recommend that you get some friends to take a look at the site too.

    We would then ask you for any feedback,changes or tweaks at this stage. We would incorporate them quickly into the website design.

    The most important thing about this process is that you are completely happy with the progression.

    If you wanted a complete website redesign from scratch, we would be happy to do this for you, but we would only do this once.
  • How and when do I pay for my site?
    If you decide to use Actor Design after we have sent you a quote we would ask for a 50% deposit of the total cost of the work.

    The other 50% of the cost would be payable prior to the website going live.

    Our bank details will be on our invoice and quote for a transfer using internet banking, the easiest and safest way nowadays. If you wanted to pay by cheque this could be arranged.
  • What sort of links can you add to my website?
    We will be happy to include clickable buttons to various acting industry and social media sites.

    We can link direct to your Spotlight page, your Casting Call Pro page and even your IMDB page if you have one.

    We can also include a link to your Facebook and Twitter pages, or include a Twitter feed on your site. Speak to us about what you want and within reason we can get it done!
